I want to make a nightgown for my mum. Does anyone know where I could find some good free online patterns?

I want it to be a sleeveless light nighgown for summer with a matching robe. I've sewn a bit before but nothing this complex and I'm a little lost. Any help would be wonderful. Thanks.

Try this page. I think you could eliminate the sleeve part and turn the edges in around the armhole or use bias tape around it. You might make one out of an old sheet first.

http://sewing.about.com/od/freeprojects/Free_Sewing_Projects.htm

Go to Adult clothing patterns, then click on Late 15th Century Italian Chemise Pattern, then click on to where they have moved it to.

Here are some more free patterns for you.

Hope this helps you out.

I have a velvet nightgown that rolls up at the hem. How do I correct this problem.?

I have tried undoing the hem but it still rolls up a lot--like 6" of fabric. Its like a rope around the bottom.

You can get weighted cord that they sew into the bottom of net curtains to keep them taut between top and bottom.

Nothing will help. Its the way the material is woven.

Sew in a liner and use backing on the new hem

Do you think that walking around in a nightgown like looks like a summer dress without a bra is disrespectful?

It's not overtly sexy looking or see-thru but who are you willing to walk around like that in front of? Besides your husband/bf of course.

I'd probably wear it around my husband's buddies but cross my arms over my chest...lol. Funny thing you ask that, i had on my jammies last night, a tight white thin tee shirt without a bra and my husband comes strolling in with his friends that showed up, didnt have time to hide, you can imagine the cold weather jokes...lol

I guess it depends on where your wearing it. I wouldn't wear it to a night out with friends, but i guess at home or a walk on the beach wearing something like that won't harm anybody. Hope i helped xXx

Hmmm sounds okay

just aslong as it doesnt look like u aint got a bra on..

Family, friends, even neighbours if i've just walked outside to get the paper or something.

It's just a nightgown.

Depends who you are aiming to be disrespectful to.

In house you can wear but unkown people & out side houe can be avoided

You can wear that around me I wont mind.

umm yeah... lol... the only person who would like to see u naked or partially naked is the one u get it on with.. otherwise, no one would like to see that.

How do you remove semen from a girls Polyester Nightgown?

lol I don't want to go into details on how this happened, kind of a Christmas incident, any-who. The night gown is 100% Polyester.

I did something that appears to have been a dumb idea, I tried wetting it and using paper towels to soak it up and rub the stain out a little, and that didn't do anything really.

So that idea doesn't work.

um u shuld open the washer door put the gown in close the door add detergent and press start.

Wash it in the washing machine with some laundry detergent. Dry it on delicate (warm) and put it back where you found it.

put it in the washing machine :-)!?

How can I wear a maxi dress without it looking like a nightgown?

And how do you wear them if you've got over a D cup bust?

Maxi dresses look best on taller women. So if you are lucky and already have height, wear your maxi with flat gladiator sandals. If your quite small wear your maxi dress with wedges to give you that gorgeus height.

Also, try wearing big chunky bangles with a maxi dress. Adds more glam and looks really good. Wooden bangles look so hot with a maxi right now.

Maxi dresses look so good on women with bigger busts. A woman with a smaller bust will find it harder to pull off a maxi dress as it will make them appear flatter.

If you feel like your still wearing a 'nightgown', try wearing a shrug or small cardi over the top so you feel a bit more covered and dressed.

Hope this helps x

If you've got big boobs you should wear something like a cute little cardigan or shrug over it so it doesnt draw so much attention to your chest.

Also, wedges and chucky jewellery to dress it up a bit.

=)

.x.

http://style-eyes.blogspot.com/2008/06/maxi-dresses.html

I think you would need one that is reasonably fitted.

wear some bulky bracelets with it, hair up, and wear wedges.

hmm... with jeans. I know that sounds weird.. but it can look cool if done right.

Where can I get a knitting pattern for a girl's nightgown?

I want to knit my 6yo daughter some light cotton nightgowns for spring but I can't find any patterns. I'm looking for a simple pattern with a plain bodice and a full/swing skirt. I'd like to add my own embellishments like lace edging on the shoulder straps. But I need a plain pattern to start with. Thanks!

That's a lot of knitting, but here is a link. Good luck.

Hobby Lobby, JoAnn Fabrics and also Ebay

Try knitting.com or even on the DIY network, they have a knitting show that might give you some links. You might have to improvise some of it, but if you can find pieces of what you're looking for, you can put them together to make one.

Lincraft, i live in Australia, don't know if u have that store wherever u live, and also spotlight, lol my mum shops at those places

First I'd start by looking for sun dresses instead of night gowns.

This has sleeves but you could always skip that part. Has a lacey look so would be cooler.

Who was the red nightgown wearing dude on public access tv that would get pranked all the time?

He was fat and would always make fun of his callers that tried to make fun of him. They were funny as hell and I can't seem to find them.

His name was Gorgeous George and those videos are legendary. That guy never had one legitimate call, everyone made fun of him. I remember he had some dork as his sidekick who just sat around and laughed at everything George said. Both those guys were pathetic. I don't remember him ever wearing a red nightgown though.

Why does my therapist wear nothing but a nightgown and rollers during our sessions?

It makes me extremely uncomfortable being that this is also, a male wearing knee-highs and rollers and yes, a nightgown. I have tried to bring it up but I am met with weird staring and I am told I am

' intolerant'

Are you sure you didn't accidentally knock on the wrong door and now you're seeing some crazy escaped mental patient who is pretending to be your therapist lol?

Please tell me you are kidding. No therpist should be behaving in that way, there are rules against things like that, are you sure you are seeing a liscesed therapist, because I am a liscensed therapist, and if I ever showed up at work like that I would be fired. I can understand if he is a man, and a crossdresser then that is something that he does, but he has to atleast get dressed in the mornning. Not come to work in a nightgown and rollers. Is there someone that he works for that you can talk to. Because usually a theapist works for a psychiatrist, so maybe talk to the psychiatrist above him. I think you defiately need to find yourself a new therapist.

I hope you are joking, but if your serious, then i think its your therapist that has serious problems, and needs help. Its not at all professional behavior. Every profession has to dress accordingly, and adhere to the code of conduct.

You should report him, and also find another therapist.

He's playing with your mind by making you feel, your discomfort is your fault.

I'm sure he wouldn't go out dressed like that!

please get another therapist

You've got to be joking. Your therapist is insane, go see another one. DUH!!!

awsome

you are joking right? Why haven't you found a new therapist???

That is ****ing sexy.

When you were in the hospital, did you prefer to wear pj shorts or a nightgown?

I am getting my bag packed for the hospital and I cant decide on a pj shorts or pants with a button down top for nursing or a nightgown that button downs a little. What did you prefer? I hate how overly big the hospital gowns are on me so after the first day I want to change into my own clothes.

bring both. this way you can change when one doesn't work for you.

I wore the hospital gown like NY as to not get blood on my clothes. But if you want to wear your own do a night gown that buttons down the front it would be easier than pants(in my opinion)

I had pajama pants and wore a button down shirt.

I also stayed in a hospital gown because I didn't want to bleed all over my own clothes. I packed a night gown but I didn't wear it and it would have been very impractical for nursing anyway.

In the hospital they press on your stomach a lot so shorts would also be impractical.

you will probably want to stay in there gowns because the night after there is alot of blood you have to change your padding alot so its easier th have a either the hospital gown or something like it if you prefer you own stuff but it will probably get ruined

Don't take bottoms. Take the gown that buttons down far enough to nurse. You will bleed and ruin your shorts. Take OLD panties with you. I never wore their gowns except for the OR.

Good luck and best wishes.

I breastfeed too and I live in tank tops, even in the winter. I packed long jammie pants and my 2 maternity tanks. For the most part, I stayed in bed due to a classical c-section, but when I got up and walking around I got dressed. Make sure to pack the oldest, ugliest undies you have and also some pads, lol.

Night gown! You are not going to want anything tight or restrictive in that area for a bit. It might not be too bad if you have a natural birth with no tearing but if that doesn't happen you want a gown! I wound up with a completely unplanned c-section and it took almost 12 weeks before I could wear pants comfortably unless I wore them like a punk with my underwear hanging out or like Urkel, jacked up to my arm pits LOL. Also you will likely wind up with a catheter stuck up there natural or c-section birth and that left me really sore for a few days as well in that area.

Also make sure you are bringing Grandma underwear with you for the same reason (you know the kind, looks like you could construct a tent out of them, even the smallest sized ones). You still need something to hold the pad but you don't want something that is going to ride up your butt crack if you have tears or where the elastic hits the surgery opening. I still have pairs of underwear I can't wear 4 months later because the elastic band hits right where the scar is.

I wore my own clothes too in the hospital for comfort. I just made sure they were stuff I didn't care about getting stained. About the only benefit to having the c-section was that while they were in me, they pretty much vacuumed me out so my post partum bleeding was minimal.

Good luck and hope all goes as planned!

I am another one that just wore the hospital gowns.

I took a set of cute PJ's and when I saw how much muck there was I decided to stay in there stuff. Then I could ruin that and change frequently.

Go for a two-piece set, that why you an retain a little modesty when you're being prodded and poked. When I was in the hospital, I had to wear the gown, but I also wore pj pants underneath for comfort and modesty.

Nightgown and a robe. Oh and don't forget comfy slippers

I wore the hospital gown for the first day.. (I gave birth at about 1:30 in the afternoon..) and the next day I took a shower and changed into some very loose pants and my own underwear and a regular shirt..

I can't stress enough how much you will NOT want to put pressure down there.. and shorts are usually tighter than a loose pair of pj pants or a nightgown... definitely think LOOSE and that'll be the most comfy.

you do get a lot of follow up visits to be checked down there on the first and second day, so take that into consideration. it hurts to do anything.. and the act of taking off shorts will hurt, I guarantee it.

I say, get the nightgown.. :)

good luck and congrats!!

I wore the gown they gave me in the hospital.

Iwould pack a night gown that isnt tight around your lower abdomen. Because even after you have your baby your gonna still feel pain in that area and its gonna be very sensative. Because your uterus still contracts after you have the baby and eveything because it contracts itself down to its normal size. Also when nurses come in to check you your gonna wanna be a in a gown cause its painful and messy. So bring a few night gowns to the hospital so you have clean gowns.

Actually, neither. I stayed in the hospital gown because of the bleeding. I didn't want to leak on my own stuff. It was easy to nurse in it as well.

I prefered the hospital nightgown so that I wouldn't bleed on my own clothes. Also the nightgown was soo helpful because I didn't have to pull any pants down. Pulling my underwear down was painful enough. Each person has a different pain level, but I was in pain since the dr had to cut me a little down there and I had some hemmroids.

a nightgown with buttons down the front. It was more comfortable and easier for dr. follow-ups

There's a lot of bleeding after a baby is born. Especially during the first 24 hours. The hospital will have you wear these extra big pads for protection but even with those I could remember getting out of bed and there was a small puddle on the floor. Wearing 2 pads prevented leaks but you still have to change them often. If you manage to sleep for a long while then you'll probably leak even with 2 pads. There is a pretty good possibility that you'll stain your own pajamas if you bring your own. That's the reason why most moms use the hospital gowns.

For myself, I wouldn't have minded my own 2 piece pajamas after the first 24 hours but not before then.

Night Gown Of Course

After I had my IV taken out I put on a pad, wore pajama pants and a regular shirt with a nursing bra. Just remember that most hospitals will provide pads, but they are very uncomfortable. So I recommend bringing your own brand and make sure to take breast pads. I didn't know that my first time giving birth and I leaked the whole time in the hospital.

During delivery I wore the hospital gown with a comfy robe (that ended up getting blood all of over it when they put baby on my chest). Then as they helped me get cleaned up a bit post-delivery I put on a clean gown and these awful mesh undie thingy with a huge granny pad. I was in the mother-baby room. Then some family came in to say hi, check in on me, and of course see baby. I had on the gown with my hubbies robe that he put in his bag. Then after everyone left I put on a t-shirt and a pair PJ pants (after a much needed shower) which did get ruined but I didn't care because it was comfy and I felt a bit better. Also bring with some older undies because you will end up throwing them away. The hospital gowns are always huge on me too. Good luck!

i wore pants and shirt just a few hours after giving birth with all of mine, it was much more comfy.

mine didn't button down though i just lifted it up and if someone came in i threw a blanket over me.

so i just suggest whatever is comfy to you

I opted for the nightgown but I ended up just using the hospital gown because it was more convenient.

I used the gowns. I didn't want to get my clothes all messy. But my bleeding was moderate the next day so i put my own pj's on then.

Im a male to female crossdresser i need some help finding the right nightgown?

ok i love nightgowns but its time for a new one i was wondering i anyone had any suggestions, something silky and long, preferably with a robe so if you have suggestions or found a nightgown you would think id like well then show me thank you.

is that your actual pic? if so, you are freaking smoking!

Y'know, when it comes to 24 hour greasy spoon restaurants, it's hard to beat this place down the road called "The Omelette Shack." They usually give me an extra soap-flavored piggut and lint sausage link when I go in there, so I'm trying to give them a little free advertising.

Hey, thats awesome.

Do you listen to Jeffree Star? He's a male to female crossdressrer. Download the song Plastic Surgery Slumber party by him. Flippin' amwsome!

He's absolutely gorgeous. Google some images of both him and the clothing.

WOW, if your yahoo icon is really a photo of you, you surly pass!

(Sorry, not much of an answer, but, wow, you are beautiful!)

Try Victoria Secret, they have some really cute long sexy ones.

If that avatar is a picture of you, then you look great! =)

(sorry for not answering the Question.)

Is this for every night just sleeping or special nights?

Yea, I'm in the same boat... good luck!

What should I wear to bed: red nightie, pink pj set, or a nightgown?

I crossdress and am so excited that I can sleep in something feminine tonight, but dont know what I should wear. I have a red nightie, a pink pj with a cami or a nightgown that is below the knee.

well i wouldnt pick the nightgown.. too granny

go for the pj's with the cami because its more of what girls wear to bed when they are not sleeping with a significant other... the nightie is for that

pink pj. trust me, you will look cute. do tell me if u have a blog! POST YOUR PICS! :)

if you want to feel girly/flirty wear the cami pjs, if you want to feel sexy wear the red nightie. sleep tight :)

Why does it matter?

Hospital bag and where to find a good nursing nightgown?

Hello! I have a few questions for you ladies about packing a hospital bag.

What did you pack in your hospital bag?

What was a waste of space?

Was there anything you wished you had packed?

Do you know a good place to find a nightgown for the hospital, I plan on nursing, any tips would be great!

Thanks in advance for all of you answers! I hope everyone is having a great day!

Before I suggest some ideas, have you gone to your hospital orientation or checked with the hospital about it?

I attended a hospital orientation before giving a birth and came home with a list of things they wanted or suggested moms to bring.

I didn't need pajamas because the hospital provided them; great for nursing BTW!

* bring warm socks & slippers! I used socks during delivery and after...

* a robe

* bring extra pads ; the hospital however provided them for me

* towel and toiletries

* LIP BALM- You'll need it!!!

* camera

* phone book

* phone card / I called overseas

* sudoku/ crossword puzzle / just in case =)

* clothing for going home

* baby's clothing for going home; blanket, CARSEAT!!!

* you may want to bring extra juices, power bars or fruits IF hospital allows it

... some moms brought their boppy pillows to get used to using them when nursing

Good Luck!

- mommy of a 8month old girl!

In my bag I packed

five pairs of underwear

five pairs of socks

three comfy sweat suit outfits, an outfit to wear home

toothbrush/paste

my own shampoo/conditioner, lotion, deoderant (the hospital ones suck),

brush

make up

my own pillow

slippers

robe

hard candy (for when in labor so my mouth doesnt get so dry)

powerade

nursing bras

breast pads

breast cream

maxi pads

for hubby

swim trunks so he can get in hot tub with me

cellphone and charger

camera

snacks

drinks

magazines

extra clothes

socks

boxers

for baby

carseat

mittens

caps

socks

a couple of warm take home outfits

a couple of onesies

As for the nursing night gown, I was just at Kohls the other day and they had the cutest pajamas that were capri like bottoms and top was a button down long sleeve shirt, it's not made for nursing but it would work since it buttons down. Goodluck and congrats

The only things that I really used that I had packed were my pajamas, pillow, comb and hair ties, toothbrush and toothpaste, and my camera. I think I would have been more excited about showering with my own towels and shampoo and conditioner if I wasn't so exhausted from labor. I was on a pitocin drip overnight, so I hadn't slept well, and was too tired to do much else. I don't really wish I had taken anything else, except snacks for my husband and a book for him to read.

If you are planning on having a natural birth, or delaying an epidural for a while, or even if you have a low tolerance to pain, tennis balls are great for someone to massage your back with. After I had an epidural, my skin was really itchy. The nurses said it was just an effect of the anesthesia, but I was really glad that I had lotion.

This isn't about what I took to the hospital, but I wish I had remembered to buy maxi pads earlier. My water broke a week early, and I hadn't been to the store. My husband wasn't comfortable buying me pads, so there I was in walmart after being discharged from the hospital buying them.

I went into the hospital at about 11pm Sunday night and checked out by 8 Tuesday night. I wasn't there long enough to need many changes of clothes or anything, but pack according to how long you are planning on staying.

Best of luck with your new baby and finding a nursing nightgown.

You don't really need a nightgown for the hospital. The hospital gowns snap up the sleeves so it's easy access for nursing. Just bring a robe (& slippers).

Another note about nightgowns... I had a couple of the nursing ones from Motherhood. I used them a bit at first, but later, I was just easier (and warmer - it was winter) to wear flannel pjs. Button down works well. Anyway, here is a link to the sleepwear at Motherhood if you are interested:

http://www.motherhood.com/CollectionNursing.asp?category_Name=Sleepwear&Category_Id=2003&MasterCategory_Id=997&Pageison=1

For an outfit for yourself to wear home, bring something comfy and big, since you're still not back to normal size.

Best wishes!

When I had my daughter, the hospital gave me a gown exclusively for breastfeeding moms. It was way better than anything I took with me.

I packed a couple of pajama's that were button down shirt types as well as a "skinny" outfit to wear home. The rest was the usual, toothbrush, hair brush etc. I was also smart enough to pack a couple of those nursing shields for "leaking". The waste of space I wish I hadn't packed...the extra car seat since the hospital gave us one to take her home in.

Congratulations!

The best gowns for nursing are those that button or zip down the front!! keeps you from having to hike up your gown from the bottom just to nurse!!

Pack all the toiletries...toothpaste, brush, shampoo, etc

Pack a book or magazine

Pack socks or slippers

Pack going home clothes & baby's going home clothes

Pack camera/video camera

Pack phone book to call everyone

Pack portable music player

I found a good nightgown that buttoned 4 buttons only at Walmart for like $6

you won't need a nursing nihtgown.

You got some good answers here.. But I just wanted to add- don't bother spending money for a nursing nightgown... Just find one that buttons or zips up the front. Trust me. =) GL!

P.s. Target has great nursing tanks... I used those a lot in the beginning weeks Post partum.

Motherhood has nice nursing gowns. Also in the hospital the gowns are made for nursing, but I wanted to change into my own PJ's real quick.

As for the bag the above answers have covered it. I wish I would have brought my own towels. There were ones there to use but they were tiny. I'm used to my long, soft ones from home. Also a throw blanket from home would have been nice too. Good luck!

I wouldn't take your own night gown because you're still going to be bleeding. I would take a bath robe just to put over the night gown that you get at the hospital. I'm due in May, that's what I'm doing. I don't want to buy a night gown just to ruin it. Make sure to bring a nursing bra and pads for the bra.

Mouth wash!!

What do I need to measure to make myself a nightgown?

Also, what are other pointers I need to know when making this nightgown? I'm new to sewing clothes. I've only done stuffed animals before and quilts.

Bust ,Waist and Length if you are using a pattern like you can buy a craft stores, i'm pretty sure they have step by step instructions, i know u can buy books on how to make differnt clothes at a craft store

look at the patterns and they should tell you. Personally I'd order one from Land's End

Use one that you already have, that you like, and that fits well. Lay it out on the fabric you have chosen and trace around it, leave at least 1/2" for your seam allowances. Just remember which side is inside and which side is outside:) Number your pieces if you need to, and jot them down on a sketch pad. If you've sewn other things, then a nightgown should be fairly easy for you:) About the only other pointer I could suggest is to get really soft, comfy material:) And make sure it is pre-shrunk or wash it before starting.

Good Luck!!

If you want to make a nightgown, you need to measure your arms and you need to decide how long you want the sleeves and actual nightgown to be. You should also measure how big you are around so the nightgown is not too tight or anything.

Essentially you need to measure your bust, hips, and what length you want it at. A nightgown should not be a hard task.

Perhaps you could use an existing nightgown as your template. Buy an inexpensive one that fits and has pleasing proportions then measure it or disassemble it and create your own.

Good luck

What age is too late for a toddler to learn a second language?

Does anyone know of any other DVD's or something that I can show my toddler so that he can learn spanish? I do not know any language but English, but I want my son to be bilingual. The only thing that he watches now that has a little bit of spanish is Dora and Diego, but that isn't enough to be fluent. Can anybody give me some advice on how I can have my toddler fluent in the English and Spanish language? FYI: My son is a year and a half old.

Wuzzy. THat is a good program to learn second and more languages. I was told children can learn other languages easier if taught from birth to six or seven.... but can still learn older, it is just a little tougher.

If your toddler has a favorite DVD, try changing it to Spanish if it has language selection.

Never too late.

What i hear the first 5 years are very important in teaching new things. So your on the right track. I just don't know how far you will get if you don't know the language yourself unless you learn right along with him. Just start using simple Spanish words to begin with and go from there. I don't have any ideas to learn it. ...Oh the library carries Books on Tape teaching Spanish, maybe you should look there.

What is the law about leaving a toddler alone in a car in Illinois?

My daughter attends a very nice preschool in illinois. There is a woman with a 2 year old that constantly leaves her in her van to go get her other daughter. The toddler is always unbuckeled and sometimes is even eating snacks that can easily be choked on. The toddler plays with all the cars controls and the whole situation can be potentially harmful. What is the law? The school is not a quick pick up, you wait in a line with 36 other parents and go down 2 long halls, the vehilcle isn't even in sight!

It is illegal and irresponsible. You might even try gently saying something to her, maybe she is to unmindful to think anything about it. I saw this happen in a parking lot in Atlanta, Georgia with a ten day old baby in a Lincoln Navigator. The mother was absent for 30+ minutes. We called the police, because who knows maybe someone abducted the mother. When the police arrived the mother still had not returned, they sent one policeman into the stores nearby to look for her and the firefighters were about to break the car window to get the baby out, when they located the mother three stores down at a stationary store. She said she lost track of time, and didn't think it was a problem. The baby was only ten days old mind you. Needless to say, she got arrested, taken to jail, and charged with a felony. Her sister had to be called to come and take the baby home, because she was too embarrassed to call her husband. The police officers said they take this matter very seriously and that it enrages them to see this occur so often. The moral of the story is absolutely never leave your child unattended in a vehicle, it is not worth the consequences that could occur to them or you.

Im assuming its illegal, But it shouldnt matter what state a person lives in, I think a mother or father should know right from wrong and not even leave a child in the car alone period! not even for a minute!...You cant trust people out there these days. but if i were you and you see it again, i would most Deff. tell someone!...

This is against the law. Also very, VERY stupid. I would contact the school, inform them that this woman is doing this. But if she continues, I'd call police.

No matter what state you live in it is considered neglect if you leave a young child in a car unattended. The child could get abducted, could accidentally start the car or even get the door open and wander off. It is simply not something that she should be doing even if it's inconvenient for her to have to bring her daughter in to go get her other daughter. I have five kids and I never leave them in a car unattended...

I think that you should call the police the next time you see this happen. Stay next to the vehicle and wait for them to get there. No matter what the law is, this isn't right!! No one should leave a child unattended in a vehicle!! For any reason!! I even take my kids in with me to pay for gas at a gas station. I couldn't live with myself if something happened to them because I wanted the convenience of just "running in for a minute". In her case, it is considered child endangerment and neglect. Get involved, it could save the child's life!!

mention it to the preschool personnel ; if something happens then it will be too late for you to act both for her sake and her daughter; better for you to say something than she goes to jail or the child is injured etc; we all have hard choices to make but this one is a no brainer; you need to act by telling personnel or saying something yourself to her, which ever is easier for you but something needs to be said to protect the life of someone who can't protect them self

That is not allowed...call the police next time you see it...or report ahead of time so the police can be there when it happens....that mom would be the first one on TV crying when her kids taken saying I don't know how this happened...some people shouldn't have kids!

Death Penalty.

I don't know what the law is, but either way it's wrong. No one should leave their child in the car by theirself ever.

TOTALLY ILLEGAL.

If you are concerned about the child call CPS. Obviously the school isnt going to.

Call the law the next time you see this, tell them there is a baby left unattended in a car. You do not have to tell the law who you are. Describe everything down to a "T" to the cops and when they get there she will be going to jail for child neglect. It doesn't matter what state your in , it is wrong and against the law to do what she is doing.

Contact the school first, its not hard to take a 2 year old in to a school and to pick up another child. If the school does nothing the yes contact the police. She needs a serious wake up call! She would be very upset if something (god forbid) happened to the child.

Hope it all works out for ya!

Call the police... poor thing.

Gonna take a stab in the dark and say if caught this parent can have their children taken away and do possible jail time...

I think you should be minding your own business and take care of your own kids.

become a police officer and patrol the area

What happens if a toddler drinks milk that has been left out overnight?

My toddler found a sippy cup left over from yesterday that had some chocolate milk in it. I looked for it yesterday and didn't find it, but of course, he found it first thing this morning and drank some of it (I don't know how much) before I realized and took it away from him. I know it was bad because it has been sitting out for many hours. Now I don't know what to do. It's Sat so I can't call his dr. Any help?

I doubt that it will do anything to him but MAYBE give him a stomach ache. It's not going to poison him, though, if that's what you're asking.

Just keep an eye on him, and see if he develops a loss of appetite or diarrhea. He will probably be fine, though.

I would assume that he would have a stomach ache but I do not think that it is that serious. Your baby is going to be find. Thank God, he didn't drink something toxic... Good Luck!!!

he might be poisoine because its a spoiled food and its not good for any person specially for a child i think you have to let him drink lots and lots of water or if you can.... let him vomit....ask a doctor just in case it didnt work..

Well maybe nothing will happen because it wasn't really bad yet. MAybe he will just throw it up and get a stomach ache. But make him eat a couple of slices of bread and that will help his stomach soak up the milk.

If it was that bad he will just throw up. My daughter has done this too and didn't even get sick. Iron tummy I guess, lol. He will be fine just keep an eye on him. If he starts acting funny call the dr. or take him to the er.

How does your toddler behave at the doctor?

Is your toddler cooperative when the doctor wants to stick the probe in his/her ear? Is the nurse able to do an accurate height measurement or does your baby squirm? How about the flashlight in the eye? Shots? Do tell.

MY 18 MONTH OLD ACTS LIKE HE IS LOSING IS MIND

my girl is 3 1/2 and she is a little shy but cooperative

mine is 3 and 1/2

and last time he was very cooperative, and chatty, and

did very well

My daughter was horrible at her first pediatricians starting at around 2. I used to tell her she couldn't cry until we were in the building. However, when we moved and we got a new pediatrician she seemed to get over her fear. I spoke to the new physician about it and he spent some time initially letting her get to know him. He also didn't check her ears unless he felt they might be an issue since that seemed to be where the issue with her other pediatrician came from. From then on she would cooperate, do as he asked, and other than not sitting still, which she never does we never had another problem.

My four year old loves the dr. She lets him try her stethoscope and she gives him her pen to draw on the paper thats on the "bed". He doesn't really throw a fit about shots he just doesn't like to be held still to get them. But he's an odd child cause he also likes to get his hair cut. My eight year old on the other hand hates the dr cries if she has to go, doesn't like them to touch her. She has been through quite a bit with them though.

My daughter is 20 months and she screams the entire time witht he doctor. Shes ok with the nurses but as soon as the doc walks in the room she screams and wont stop until he leaves. I asked him about this and he said that its a stage and she will get over it

MY daughter is WONDERFUL. She even asked the doctor (in baby sign language) if she could have her drink and blankie (good thing the doctor knew baby sign language) because she was getting a little scared, and it made her feel better that the doctor listen (or saw) and did as she asked.

As for shots we use to have to hold her down, now I just sit at her head talking to her very calmly, she still cries but she doesn't squirm or jerk or anything, just lets the nurse give her shots. And then she gets to cuddle with daddy.

The only thing she doesn't seem to like is when the doctor takes off her diaper to see the diaper area, my daughter gets upset if ANYONE takes of her diaper when she isn't wet. But she don't mind running naked, go figure.

My daugher is 21 months old. I have never seen a child as well behaved as her (and I use to baby sit for a living when I was in high school and for a year after) in public (she never throws a fit) and at the doctors.

he hits him in the nuts and asks for a sucker, must get it from his daddy

My 3 yr old is pretty well behaved at the doc, unless there is a strep culture involved, and the whole tounge depressor issue... Other than that he is cooperative, as long as he doesn't see the shot comming he is fine, he will cry a bit after the fact, but all & all he is pretty well behaved.

our son is 3 he did not like drs do to the shots, but to help ease all that we bought him a dr kit. he takes that with him and pretends hes the dr. he doesnt cry anymore when he goes and he always asks if hes getting a shot we tell him the truth so that way he knows what to expect some how that eases every visit to the dr.

I have been very lucky with both my boys. My oldest went thru a difficult phase..... but i have a trick... when they are hurt...or need nails clipped..i let them sit on the kitchen table and i tell them to let 'doctor mommy' take a look!!!! and then they get a bandaid when i am done (even if i did nothing) and it is fun for them. Acouple weeks ago i had to take my 2 year old to the doc...and he thought it was a hoot!!!

SHOTS..... very lucky with both my boys....nurses have been amazed everytime they get them....

My 3 year old daughter kicked my doctor's balls as he was about to give her an injection. She then screamed at the top of her lungs to the point the receptionist had to come and help restrain her. It was like a scene at out "The Exorcist". As you can tell my daughter doesn't like needles!

I have twins 3 yr olds,

its just an absolute joy - needless to say, they best really be hurt or sick before i'll do that again...

My children are very calm and cool unless my 2 year old has not had a nap...lol Most kids though do not like to cooperate.

How did your toddler do with teething during the canines?

The four fang teeth in the front, the last of the teeth to come in before the 2 year molars? Bradley is 17 months old and the poor thing is getting in all 4 canines at the same time! He hasn't slept a good night's sleep in two weeks, he wakes up everday from his nap with a fever and drooling and he's is grinding his teeth constantly. He calls his medicine (ibuprophen) "satin" and constantly whines that he wants "satin" which tells me he is pain a lot (I try to only give him it at night). When did your toddler get their canines and how did they do with them? Any suggestions for helping the little guy? Orajel is useless and he hates frozen washclothes.

My daughter is getting her canines in right now, 3 came in at the same time, and she's working on the 4th one. Have you seen the orajel swabs? They are a little easier to apply to the gums, if that is your problem. You can also try frozen treats, such as popsicles. Frozen gummy bears work well for my daughter, but you have to be careful with them, since they are a choking hazard. The frozen washcloth never worked for her, either. Infant tylenol is very safe for them, and there is nothing wrong with giving it to them every 4 hours, especially if they are in that much pain.

My mother-in-law got me some "Teething Tablets." She said they are over-the-counter, but they are kept behind the pharmacy. They are tiny little tablets that crumble or dissolve when put to the gums. They are all natural and my daughter liked them. It's worth a try. Btw, she got them at Kroger.

aww that's a shame for the wee man try calpol i found that good for babies my daughter is 19 months and hasn't got her EYE teeth yet canines are for dogs. Ok i take it back lol i thought that name was for dogs only sorry

Try asking your Pediatrician for something stronger.

How long are babies in a toddler bed?

I am considering purchasing a toddler size quilt. I realize I can use this in the crib and then use it in the toddler bed (when I transition from the crib to the bed). The crib converts into a toddler bed with the same size mattress. What I want to know is how old children are when they are too big/too tall to fit in the toddler bed and need a regular twin bed. I am trying to figure out how many years worth of use I will get out of this quilt before it is too small. The quilt would be too small for a twin bed but perfect for a toddler bed.

4-5 years old depending on the childs growth. My six year old could easily still fit in toddler bed, but she is very small for her age. However, I did find that my kids slept better in a twin bed. The plastic toddler mattress wasn't as comfortable as a twin and it squeaks because of the plastic. We moved our three year old to a twin bed for her third birthday and she has done great and sleeps like a rock.

You can keep them in a toddler bed as long as they are comfortable with it. It would be a pretty big child to be too tall for a toddler bed and by then they can let you know if they want "out". You can always take the quilt to a consignment shop when you are done with it and get a few bucks out of it!

babies should be in a crib. toddlers should be in a toddler bed.

My daughter is 4 and still in a toddler bed, I say around 5 or 6 then move to a big bed. it all depends on how long and heavy your child gets. my son is 2 and in a toddler bed. but i dont think my daughter will be in a toddler bed much longer she is almost 4 foot tall if not already

3years old, but the blanket makes a nice car blanket or, something to take to the movies or any place where you might be out late and the child may fall asleep before getting home. My youngest is 3 and we keep a baby blanket that has animals in bright fun colors around for cuddling on the couch and all sorts of things.

baby/toddler need to be out of a crib when they start trying to climb out becasue then it's dangerous to be in a crib

i was in a regular bed at 3 but that's because we moved but i did fine in it

my daughter is in a transition that is currently a tot bed and will become a regular bed when i put her down in one place and she's still in the same place when i wake her up

You aren't going to want to hear this...especially since you already bought a convertable crib. But what I have personally found was the easiest thing to do is to skip the toddler bed. Put a twin or full sized mattress on the floor and decorate the room like a regular room. Make sure you put rails on the bed too. As the baby gets older, you can add the box spring and eventually the "wooden bed". Some furniture places even sell full/twin beds that are specifically for kids and you can raise them higher and higher off the ground. Don't waste your money on toddler bed items...they will be out of it in no time flat.

I started both of my girls on a mattress when they were 10 months old. They didn't sleep beneath the covers until about age 2...but slept on top the bed with blankets on. I had their room completely baby-proofed and kept a night light in their room and just shut the door. At first, it was a novelty and they would get up some times and wander...but they always went back to their mattress to sleep.

my son is 6 and still sleeps with the quilt that was made for him when he was a baby...I have had to repair it twice...even though it is a crib size quilt, he still cannot go to bed without it.....I wouldn't worry about it...buy the quilt....

My childern were in a toddler bed until about 2 1/2. We then purchased a twin mattress and bed with adjustable rails for either side to prevent the child from rolling out during the night.

By age 4 years, the rails can be removed as long as the child is comfortable with that.

well honestly i had a three year old foster child in a toddler bed and she was still small enough to fit in it but if the child grows attached to the blanket it may stay with them till they are grown some things like that are good to keep so they have them when they get older or to share with teir children!

What are the main characteristics of a toddler boy?

For example, I have a toddler boy that is about to turn two in less that two weeks. He is very aggressive, macho. Rather than hugs he would rather get on my belly and jump up and down, he's so rambunctious is this normal toddler behavior for a boy. My main question is what are the typical characteristics of a toddler boy and should I be concerned that he is so independent and not really affectionate toward me.

My son is 17 mos, and he's rambunctious. He like's to play alone, he gives kisses but most times you have to take them from him :) He likes to bodyslam the pillows and his dad. It's normal, as long as he's happy. Toddlers like to run, slam, throw, jump, and get dirty, it's all good. Be thankful he's not as needy as other kids are!

That is how my boy is. He is 18 months. I am trying to teach him to be more gentle because I am pregnant again. He runs, screams, jumps, doesn't want to be held or cuddled. He can wear you out in a heart beat.

Just depends on the personality of the child. My boy was, and still is a snuggler, but my DD is not. It has been important to me to find ways to show DD affection in ways other than hugs and snuggles such as brushing her hair or tickling her feet.

What kinds of toddler and twin bed prices are parents willing to pay?

We have a custom kids bed-making business, and this year is difficult on sales. I'm trying to get our prices low enough to be affordable for the average middle class family but high enough to still earn a living.

My question is to parents: What prices would you think are reasonable for a toddler or twin wooden bed that is custom-made how you like it? Is there a threshold which you would not exceed for a toddler bed shaped like an airplane or car, or a twin?

Thanks. Some input from people going through the economic downturn will really help.

Our daughter has the Pottery Barn Larkin Sleigh crib with a conversion kit. Retails for $1000, we had a friend's discount but still shelled out around $700. At the time of the purchase we were upper middle to high, with the tough economy we are now middle class. So how things are now from a budget conscious consumer's point I would not pay more than $350 for a crib but it has to have a toddler bed conversion kit. I wish you the best of luck keeping a business afloat.

When did your toddler start sleeping in a toddler bed?

My daughter is 2 1/2, and well overdue for a toddler bed, Im sure ( my niece is the same age, and has been in a twin bed for over a year) just wondered what age seemed the norm. for that transition. She just started climbing out of her crib last night.

I think that the transition is different from child to child. Our son started climbing out of his crib at 20 months so we had to put him in a regular bed so he wouldnt kill himself. Our daughter LOVED her crib and did NOT want to go to the toddler bed. If you have room, this is what we did. We put up the toddler bed in her room and had her sleep in it for a few days during naps. She didnt like it much but eventually relented. Then we had her in the room with us while we took the babybed apart(we even let her unscrew some of the screws-she thought this was big fun-and let her watch us take the babybed down.

We made a big deal about the toddler bed and she transitioned very well.

I do think if the child is climbing out of the crib, it is a sign that it is time, mainly for safety reasons.

Good luck.

My daughter started the toddler bed at 2 and three months. She was also climbing over the edges of her crib and didn't like being 'caged in'.

I also think that sleeping in a twin bed at one is a bit young! If she's started climbing over the edge, it's probably time to start thinking about a big girl bed!

My daughter was 2 1/2 when we put up her toddler bed. She never climbed out, and she is small, so I probably could have waited longer, but we decided to go ahead and set it up. To me, it was really sad, but she did good. If you think she is ready, than give it a try!

I would say 2 and 1/2 to 3 is a great age because they are old enough to know right from wrong and also they need to start going to the bathroom by themselves through the night.

Time to switch when they can climb out. Usually right around 2 yrs old. My kids were all in a toddler bed right at 2years old. My oldest a little sooner.

My daughter was 18 months when we switched for a toddler bed. I knew once she climbed out of her crib once she was ready for a toddler bed.

my son has been in his since 18 months. and yes she is well overdue for one. make it fun for her though, let her pick out her new big girl bed.

Our son was 2. Our daughter will be 2 next month and we're talking about moving her to a toddler bed then.

15 months

What does the color of purple fashion depict?

For example, the color of pink fashion depicts girliness and femininity. So what would the color of purple fashion depict? I need to write a paragraph about this for homework, so please tell me what you know or what you think. Does it depict elegance, sophistication, maturity, womanhood, etc?

Sounds like you already understand purple. Purple is considered mature, yet you seldom see it on old ladies! Purple has always meant luxury and sophistication. A woman in purple isn't afraid to stand out or to announce herself to the world. Purple is bold, but not brash. It speaks clear and loud, but it isn't whiny or strident. Purple was once worn only by royalty, and it still carries its royal heritage in how we perceive the colour and the people who wear it. Tints of purple are considered old fashioned, and dark shades of purple are considered dark and menacing, more so than black. Purple is bold, a dress in pink is girly and frou-frou, the same dress in purple is suddenly sophisticated and chic. Purple is one of my favourite colours.

Purple to me nice n cute. Purple mean elegance

I don't know about in current times, But 100's of years ago, purple used to be known as the color of royality. Lots of kings and queens had robes that were very deep, dark purple. This was because the berries used to dye the robes were very expensive and most people of that time period, just wore undyed clothing, with was usually beige, or brown - very bland..

nope it does not

Sophistication, maturity (depending on the shade), and it's somewhat unisex. A man can wear a deeper purple (eggplant, royal), and so can a woman. When I see someone dressed in a nice purple shirt or dress, I think they look very chic, but it also tells me that they're open to creativity and exploration, because purple is a somewhat daring color to wear.

Purple has always been the color of royalty. Imagine purple velvet - rich and deep.

Purple also combines the best of two colors from which it came: red and blue. Red is for passion while blue exudes traquility. The resulting combination of these two colors is purple where the red-hot passion has been tempered by the calmness of blue.

Take note that other tints of purple like lavender has been associated with old maids. But the original purple has been used successfully to give the impression of sophistication when used with black.

How can I start being a fashion and beauty girl?

I'm 13 and I love fashion and beauty, but I just don't know how to be a fashionista/ fashion and beauty girl! I'm doing this for myself, by the way! What magazines do I read, make -up, any recommended stores, clothing lines, clothes, shoes, accessories, purses (I already have a small Coach Purse), what do fashionistas obsess over (except for fashion and beauty duh!), how do they act, any recommended books (fiction or nonfiction), what do they say a lot, what celebrities are their role models, how do I get great fashionista-baby soft skin, any bedroom (bathroom) make-overs, and any other suggestions are cool! I don't want to be self-centered or mean, I am really nice actually.

Sorry, that's a lot of stuff, but I just love fashion, just don't know how to put it!

Advice would be awesome!

Read TeenVogue, it's the best way to follow the fashion trends. People and Instyle have fashion updates for people your age sometimes. Keep your make-up safe, and clean with a glow that makes you the way you are. Don't make it too dramatic. Even out your make up; maybe a little bit of mascara, eyeliner, a touch of eyeshadow, a little bit of blush, and some gloss will do. Guys don't like it when girls have too much make up. I personally don't like Forever21 because their clothes are cheap material so I recommend that you shop at Nordstroms, Urban Outfitters, and H&M. Always dress according to the ocasio and weather, keep your accessories cute, never mix&match, but don't over accessorize. These days, the bigger the better. Don't carry around a dinky little purse, get your oufit to look more fabulous by carrying a purse that has a lot of room and style to it. Jeans are very important. I love Citizens of Humanity, True Religions, and William Rast jeans. Do not get jeans that are too tight. You'll get a muffin top which means that your fats goes over your jeans beacause your jeans are too tight. It was stated on E!'s 50 fashion do and don't. Make sure to keep the length right, and the butt area looking fit. I use Nu Skin, which is not a very well known brand, but it is the best. I was breaking out one time, I applyed some facial acne creame, the next day it was gone. And for your make up, go to Sephora, not MAC. MAC makes you look like a cake face. GOOD LUCK!

How do I get into high fashion photography?

I really want to be a high fashion photographer, but I have no idea where to start. Any suggestions?

Look it's a tough gig to get into. First you need to have some schooling in fashion. You need a art photography degree. and maybe a minor in fashion. You need to build you portfolio with great fashion shots. You need to spend every dime you can get your hands on and maybe money you'll have to borrow on a camera and equipment. The premier camera for this kinda work is Hasselblad, be prepared to hock everything you own. A laptop will be need. This a life time investment with many ten of thousands even hundreds of thousands to be invested.

You'll your own studio, or at least a studio kit where you can carry your studio lighting system around with you to a location. Look for models go to the closet university with a fashion design program and find some promising seniors and ask to shoot their stuff.

After you get some photos together, start applying for internship paid or unpaid.

internship internship internship!

Use your imagination to visualize your approach, and your ambition to project THE WAY YOU SEE THINGS through your work with the camera...

Start taking highly photogenic shots

Be always on-the-ready to sniff out someone whose writing seems to naturally back-up the statements you're making.

How would go about becoming a fashion designer ,without a gcse in Art or Textiles?

Im constantly designing clothes, which im pretty good at ,to tell the truth!,but ive just left high school (uk)and i am thinking about possibly become a fashion designer after i get my A levels in spanish ,english and science.

hhmmmm...

what universities usually look for, for any form of art and design is a portfolio of your recent work. Fashion and Textiles don't only require samples of designs you have done but sometimes preferbally some samples of fine art works of prints/patterns or texture. But it varies between different art /fashion schools.

To be honest the best way to answer your question is to email the universities you want to apply, ask them that question because some universities accept that and some don't. But the priority is that you need to be able to present a portfolio if you want to develop your designing skill in universities.

I don't think its a big problem if you don't have an art or textiles for GCSEs because some universities provide a foundation course which lets you to discover different types of arts and designs and then by the end of the course you will be familiar to what you are interested in the most. Some foundation courses provide intensive fine arts training of the fundamentals. Some arts schools require you to do English for maybe analytical purposes in sketchbooks and the way you present your work. So long as you provide a portfolio to the uni you can still go through it without having an art / textiles GCSE.

It is possible, so long as you are passionate about pursuing your dream then it will be possible. Keep up with your works and enthusiasm =] Some designers use to be something totally different before they became designers so anything can happen. Its not totally required that you need to =]

you need to build up a portfolio showcasing what you've done so basically they know what ability you are at designing. sometimes places offer courses on things like fashion designing and textiles? if you google it you will probably find some courses or classes near where you live. all the best!
